As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit.

Transit

Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

GPS is accurate, however please follow our directions as some of the other approaches take you down fairly rough roads.

HouseRules

VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT IS NOT A LEASE AND CONVEYS NO RIGHTS IN REAL PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. YOUR USE IS LIMITED TO THAT DEFINED HEREIN.

• The number of people on the property may not exceed the number of guests in your reservation confirmation plus two (regardless of whether they are staying the night or just visiting). Additional guest fees starting at $65 per person per night will apply for any unauthorized persons.

• Your sole right to access the property begins with the 3PM check-in and ends at the 11AM check-out, unless other times are approved in writing in advance. Check-in is not allowed after 9PM unless approved in advance. We will charge 50% of the daily rate for an unauthorized early arrival or late check-out.

• Dogs are allowed with prior written permission, with the payment of an additional cleaning fee, and only at certain properties. Dog owners agree to the following additional rules: use protective sheets that we will leave out for you to cover any place where your dog may lie (we are not equipped to shampoo furniture or rugs or dry clean bedding after your departure); dogs must be leashed at all times when outside (there are coyotes in the High Desert, which present danger to unleashed dogs) and owners must immediately pick up after their dogs and deposit waste in a plastic bag and place it in the garbage bin; dogs are not to be left unattended in the property at any time. In addition to our additional dog cleaning fee, we will deduct the costs of extra cleaning or repairs necessitated by the presence of your dog. If you bring any animal to
a house that does not allow pets, you will be charged a $500 fee for deep cleaning and dander removal.

• Recreational vehicles, motorcycles and camping or other overnight accommodations outside the property are not allowed. Violations of this policy will result in termination of the reservation with no refund.

• We do not guarantee the speed or availability of internet service. Internet service may be provided by a satellite and/or wireless provider and may be subject to more fluctuations and outages than you may be used to. We do not provide refunds or discounts due to internet problems that are related to the provider or weather. No illegal or abusive use of the Internet is allowed.

• Cell service may not be available at the property due to the rural nature and geography of the area.

• The High Desert occasionally has power outages due to its rural nature. We are not responsible for any outages of Southern California Edison or any inconvenience such outage may cause. We will notify you of any planned outages and if requested will attempt to accommodate you elsewhere in the event of a planned outage lasting more than 4 hours. But we do not provide refunds or discounts for power outages that are unplanned.

• No photoshoots are allowed on the property without prior written approval and the payment of additional fees. Unauthorized use of the rental property’s name, address, or images, including its interior, exterior, and / or private property surroundings, for any commercial use including but not limited to selling, advertising, TV, film production, electronic, or other media, is not permitted and we will seek to have any unauthorized use removed.

• Special events such as weddings and parties are not permitted without written approval and the payment of additional fees.

• Guests who utilize a property’s hot tub, pools and/or plunge pool do so at their own risk and we are not liable for any personal injury or other damages associated with such use. Guests may not use glass or pottery glassware, plates, etc. in or anywhere near any such water amenity. If any glass or pottery ware is broken in or near a water amenity, you will be charged the full amount to drain and refill the amenity and for any lost revenue during such service. Guests may not leave minors unattended at any hot tub, pool or plunge pool. If a water amenity is left uncovered, you will be charged a minimum of $100 for additional cleaning/filling/heating.

No lifeguard is on duty; the primary guest on the reservation is responsible for the safe operation of the pool and for the safety of any persons using the pool; by utilizing any pool or spa all guests acknowledge and accept the risk of injury resulting from use of the pool, malfunction of pool equipment, tripping or falling around the pool/spa and any other injuries that may occur and waive all claims against the homeowner or its representatives including Homestead Modern LLC.

• Guests shall allow the property owner or any designated workers access to the property for landscaping and routine maintenance, cleaning, repairs and building inspections, and pool and hot tub repairs and service.

• If for any reason beyond the control of the owner, the property is unavailable, we may cancel your reservation and refund the actual fees and / or deposits you have paid.

• Smoking is not allowed inside the property or within 15 feet of any exterior door. Please dispose of your extinguished cigarette waste in a plastic bag and then into the outdoor garbage can. Do not leave cigarette waste on the grounds. If these rules are violated, we will charge a minimum of $250 for remediation.

• Propane firepits or fireplaces may not be used for burning wood or any other materials (it is illegal pursuant to a county ordinance and may damage the fixture). If any combustible materials are burned in them, we will charge a minimum of $500 cleaning fee.

• By making your reservation, you confirm that you will comply with (and your stay is allowed by) any applicable health or safety orders from the State of California.

• Firearms are not allowed on the property.

• Local ordinances prohibit any loud, excessive, or intrusive noise that disturbs the peace or that causes discomfort or annoyance to any reasonable person at any time as well as strict quiet hours between 10PM and 7AM.

• Please pay attention to all relevant short-term rental ordinances and other regulations (such as the noise ordinance above) in accordance with county or town guidelines. If you violate any ordinance and as a result the property is fined, you will be responsible for payment of the fine plus a $500 administrative fee.

• Payments are due 50% at 60 days before check-in and 50% at 30 days before check-in (or at the time of reservation if less than the days for either payment). For bookings made directly on our website, no cancellation is allowed less than 5 days before check-in (100% of the charges and booking fees are non-refundable at that time).

• A deposit is required at the time of booking and any unused portion will be returned 7 days after checkout. Bookings made directly on our website or through Vrbo are charged an accidental damage protection fee – with payment of this non-refundable fee, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $1000 and that you report to us during your stay. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets.

• We may withhold all or part of your deposit if you fail to follow the rules in this agreement, the property listing or the property house manual. If the cost of the damages, losses, or missing items exceed the amount of the deposit, we will bill your credit card for the difference and / or pursue legal action. Cause(s) for withholding deposit funds include, but are not limited to: damage to premises or contents, missing or broken items, lost keys, required excessive cleaning, not complying fully with the departure checklist, smoke odors or damage, mailing charges for items left behind, unauthorized persons visiting or staying on the property, the presence of a dog without authorization, noise complaints after 10PM, including fines, trespassing on neighboring properties, violation of any county or town rules and unauthorized late check-out.

I really enjoyed my stay here! It was a perfect get away for 2. The host was extremely responsive and kind when i had questions or when issues arose. The bed (super cozy) and shower were by far my favorite part. The hot tub is WARM, but you can change the temp. The little pool was great for a cold plunge in the AM. The fire pit was an amazing touch, though the propane is on a timer so you constantly have to adjust and reset. We had to find the fuse box on the side of the home to make the back lights and plugs work near the hot tub. Unfortunately, the internet modem and router would not stay on, and the record player wouldn't work. The host was apologetic, and this did in no way take away from our experience, we just used our phones and a personal speaker when outside.. I didn't even have the time to use the bikes! This is a great, cozy option 25 mins from Joshua Tree. Very quiet and clean. Would definitely recommend. Thank you~

The Joshua Tree home was exactly what we wanted! A great escape from our bush lives in San Francisco and was very private. The pool was great, especially with the temperature in the high nineties. The home was spotless and had an amazing record player! Would definitely recommend the stay.

The property is very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and with great amenities. It has everything you need for your stay. It's also very close to the main entrance to the park, and the shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree - you can literally just walk to the nearby restaurants. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there was a cockroach problem. Every time we walked in the house at night we'd have to kill a couple of cockroaches, including when we arrived. I do hope the owner will put down some traps to get rid of this problem. Other than that a very nice property.

Amazing place to stay with another person! Amenities were great except in the email there were instructions and a code about opening the garage, but there was no garage. The location is very close to Joshua tree National park and had great restaurants and small shops within walking distance! The backyard is great! Everything from a hot tub to a cool down pool! Great patio to have breakfast and coffee in the morning! An inviting living room that my wife and I didn’t want to leave! Overall 5/5!! P.S. loved using the record player and listening to old music dancing around the kitchen!

Hello Tyler! Skull Rock Cottage is such a lovely destination and the walking distance to shops and restaurants is always convenient. Nothing can beat a little vintage vinyl and a hot tub! This place is exactly as pictured and is a great location for visiting the National Park as well as restaurants in the area. Super clean, well laid out, and a comfy place overall. Most of the negative reviews we read about before our stay related to the "run down" house next door and the amount of water that comes out of the shower because it only has a half glass panel for the opening. We used the sunbathing chairs and hot tub in the back yard and never saw a neighbor next door. The shower is no big deal. If you're thinking of booking, just do it, you won't regret it.

Perfect one bedroom setup for a few nights in Joshua tree. Hot tub worked great. House was clean and easy to check in to. As noted in other reviews the shower does get the bathroom floor a bit wet but it didn’t really cause any issues for us. Would go back!

By far my favorite! So nice, inviting and beautiful. The home itself was splendid but the most amazing thing is the people who run Homestead Modern. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the permission to have guest’s. My husband had a terrible headache on the day of his birthday and did t get to celebrate with his people. This is the cutest air B and B. It is very close to the park entrance. The space was so clean I felt like we were the first to stay there because everything was so perfect! The kitchen had everything we needed including a wine opener and plastic wine glasses for the spa. There were also plenty of plates, glasses, and coffee mugs that went perfect with the decor. The bed was so comfortable and the details of the reading light was appreciated. Also the towels were fluffy and the bathroom was stocked with shampoo conditioner and body wash. I’ve stayed at air b and bs with complicated lock systems but theirs was very easy to understand. I felt like every detail was thought about. I would definitely recommend this beautiful space.

We were celebrating our anniversary and this place is just what we needed! Perfect for a couple, it’s very nice and cozy it feels just like home. Comfy living room with a huge TV perfect for movies! The kitchen has everything you need. We stayed at the Airbnb most of the time so having the essentials was a plus! I was able to cook and bake and I even got to brew fresh coffee. The king bed was definitely a surprise, the most comfortable bed ever! We had AC around the entire house, bathroom has the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, even make up remover wipes. Washer and dryer on site! Jacuzzi was great for night time with a spectacular sky view, lots of stars! We didn’t get to use the grill, fire pit, or bikes because it rained but it’s great the house offers these amenities. My service dog was happy with the AC and the huge backyard! You have stores within a few blocks away. Great communication with the host, all questions are answered with all the information they provide.

Great house with great amenities. Wish there was a TV in the bedroom as well but there is only one in the main living room. House is well decorated and feels really welcoming. Shower is a bit weird with a non sliding half glass door so it will leave the bathroom floor pretty wet unless you set down a towel. Owner cant do anything about it but be advised that the house neighboring the property is run down and creepy as its windows can look into the backyard. The house is really close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park as well as just a few blocks down from the visitor center which you can get a map and learn a few things about the park! 4.5 Stars out of 5

This home was exactly what me and my girlfriend were looking for. An amazing weekend getaway and within 20 minutes from anywhere you want to go. Great view of the stars at night from the backyard, it was perfect! They also have bikes that you can ride around which was nice. This little home was a perfect little get away. I really like clean homes with simple design and not a lot of Knick knacks around. I love gray as it’s very calming and natural. You may want to throw an extra towel down when taking a shower because there is a little extra spray that escapes the half enclosed glass shower so you don’t get excess water on the cement floor in the bathroom. BTW, I loved the cement floors as I’ve also had them in a previous home and business. Great idea! ???

I really liked this place! So simple on the outside but when we got inside we really felt at home. We loved the amenities. I liked the bikes, the hot tub, the tv, the crosley player, and the kitchen appliances itself! Bed was very comfortable and spacious! I am very big when it comes to the bathroom but the only downside was the shower because the water would get onto the actual floor since it isnt a fully enclosed door. But regardless the place was clean and easy to find! Literally 5 mins from Joshua Tree! Our first night we felt a little paranoid because we can hear a lot of noises outside, it was kind of windy. Also the neighbor on the left side felt a little suspicious because yes the location is enclosed by a metal type fence but neighbors can look over easily. You can park literally 2 cars in the front. House says you can fit 4 people in the house. So i think that means 3 on the bed and 1 person on the couch. My boyfriend and I loved it so much. We would go back!

This is a very nice place, fully fenced in yard was so nice having our dogs with us. Defiantly not geared to handle 4 people, it was my son and I and we fit perfectly but wasn't room for more. The use of the outside it greatly recommended as the living room furniture left a lot to be desired comfort wise If you plan on making any food on the stove (breakfast or dinner) bring your own pans. It was a very nice, quiet place, clean. Super close to downtown (about a block away) really close to the park entrance which was an absolute plus in our books. Bring your flip flops for back yard walking as the little rocks are a bit rough, but don't worry if you forgot anything a dollar general is on the corner to collect your items.

This place is great overall. The home is very aesthetic and clean. Getting there was easy and the front entrance is recognizable. Access is easy with the passcode. The host was friendly and communicative. You’re not far from a town there’s a Starbucks less than 10min away if you still want to feel attached to the city haha. The inside of the home felt very comfortable and had a nice vibe. The kitchen was the highlight for me. The appliances are all nice, new, and work very well. There’s a grill outback that works as well just make sure you spin the timer thing to get the gas going. The chalkboard was also fun for morning notes. Other positives There’s an AC for the bedroom and one for the living room. The tv was large and had every streaming services already signed in ready to go. Few cons for me: Biggest thing was the backyard felt a bit neglected compared to how manicured the inside felt. There were qtips in the creases of the concrete. The hot tub didn’t feel clean the headrest had a hair ball on one and the other had some brown gunk. There were large pieces of glass in the dirt mainly near the patio and bonfire area. The glass is kind of a big one because one they mention rules for glassware and you don’t want to take the blame for someone else’s mistake or if you have a younger child out back they could get hurt. There were 2 dead flys in the bottom of the freezer when I opened it… however the fridge did look like it was cleaned. The shower like most new fancy modern feeling places has no door or any way of keeping copious amounts of water from getting on the floor. Again overall my girlfriend and I had a great experience. The host was great at communicating. The home was better then the pictures made it seem. It was a very nice relaxing environment with everything I needed for my stay and then some. I would be happy to be back and I’d give the overall experience 4 stars.

This is a beautiful house with lots of natural light. Everything in the house was very clean and convenient. Our favorite part was the backyard area. The Skull Rock Cottage is amazing! SkullRock Cottage was the perfect weekend escape for myself, my partner, and dog. (Huge plus for being pet friendly!) This is a great place to stay in the town of Joshua Tree! It's clearly been very recently renovated and extremely clean and comfortable. Really state of the art appliances, furniture, bedding, etc. Everything about my stay felt modern, comfortable, safe and relaxing. The big backyard with the spa, fire pit and lawn chairs is a huge plus and is great for stargazing. We loved utilizing the grill and outdoor dining set to eat our meals under the sky, too. The place is minutes from the "town center" in Joshua Tree, so you can ride the bikes provided into town or around the neighborhood. It's also only ~15 minutes from the National Park entrance! The only thing to keep in mind is that this is right in the heart of a neighborhood, so you do hear neighbors and the goings-on nearby, it's not a remote property in the middle of the desert. If you are fine with that, this is a great find and a beautiful home! I loved my stay and felt right at home. PS - one of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in away from home.

This home is a level of luxury I never knew I needed. If you are looking for the perfect stay, look no further! The perfect location (we walked and biked to some of the best shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree). And the communication and customer service are top notch. They even offered to book spa treatments for us. The Parachute bedding and Public Goods products throughout the house are a treat as well. I couldn't ask for anything more! They even provided a little dog care kit and bed for our dogs. This place is an absolute steal for the price! Definitely staying here next time we are in the area :)

I really enjoyed my stay here! It was a perfect get away for 2. The host was extremely responsive and kind when i had questions or when issues arose. The bed (super cozy) and shower were by far my favorite part. The hot tub is WARM, but you can change the temp. The little pool was great for a cold plunge in the AM. The fire pit was an amazing touch, though the propane is on a timer so you constantly have to adjust and reset. We had to find the fuse box on the side of the home to make the back lights and plugs work near the hot tub. Unfortunately, the internet modem and router would not stay on, and the record player wouldn't work. The host was apologetic, and this did in no way take away from our experience, we just used our phones and a personal speaker when outside.. I didn't even have the time to use the bikes! This is a great, cozy option 25 mins from Joshua Tree. Very quiet and clean. Would definitely recommend. Thank you~

The property is very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and with great amenities. It has everything you need for your stay. It's also very close to the main entrance to the park, and the shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree - you can literally just walk to the nearby restaurants. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there was a cockroach problem. Every time we walked in the house at night we'd have to kill a couple of cockroaches, including when we arrived. I do hope the owner will put down some traps to get rid of this problem. Other than that a very nice property.

Amazing place to stay with another person! Amenities were great except in the email there were instructions and a code about opening the garage, but there was no garage. The location is very close to Joshua tree National park and had great restaurants and small shops within walking distance! The backyard is great! Everything from a hot tub to a cool down pool! Great patio to have breakfast and coffee in the morning! An inviting living room that my wife and I didn’t want to leave! Overall 5/5!! P.S. loved using the record player and listening to old music dancing around the kitchen!

This place is exactly as pictured and is a great location for visiting the National Park as well as restaurants in the area. Super clean, well laid out, and a comfy place overall. Most of the negative reviews we read about before our stay related to the "run down" house next door and the amount of water that comes out of the shower because it only has a half glass panel for the opening. We used the sunbathing chairs and hot tub in the back yard and never saw a neighbor next door. The shower is no big deal. If you're thinking of booking, just do it, you won't regret it.

Perfect one bedroom setup for a few nights in Joshua tree. Hot tub worked great. House was clean and easy to check in to. As noted in other reviews the shower does get the bathroom floor a bit wet but it didn’t really cause any issues for us. Would go back!

Spent a week here with my husband, it was the perfect getaway with a beautiful backyard set up with all sorts of amenities. We were able to walk to the main strip, and it was an easy drive to the national park, would recommend!

Very nice place to stay for exploring Joshua Tree. We had some minor issues due to the storm but the property managers were very responsive and quickly resolved these. I particular liked the kitchen space. Would recommend.

Loved the coziness, everything was clean and put together, the hot tub was amazing and very quite location. Definitely a spot I would recommend to people who just want some quite and a quick drive to the Joshua Tree entrance. Will probably stay here again during the summer!

Perfect Joshua Tree getaway, this place was exactly what we needed. Clean, quiet, all the appliances are new, hot tub outside was amazing. The bocce ball court was a nice touch and we definitely used it, the fireplace, everything was just delightful!!

By far my favorite! So nice, inviting and beautiful. The home itself was splendid but the most amazing thing is the people who run Homestead Modern. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the permission to have guest’s. My husband had a terrible headache on the day of his birthday and did t get to celebrate with his people. They saved the day and it was the best time! I have stayed at a place of theirs before and it was equally amazing. I will forever remember their kindness and will always stay with them if available. Bravo for being top notch!!

This is the cutest air B and B. It is very close to the park entrance. The space was so clean I felt like we were the first to stay there because everything was so perfect! The kitchen had everything we needed including a wine opener and plastic wine glasses for the spa. There were also plenty of plates, glasses, and coffee mugs that went perfect with the decor. The bed was so comfortable and the details of the reading light was appreciated. Also the towels were fluffy and the bathroom was stocked with shampoo conditioner and body wash. I’ve stayed at air b and bs with complicated lock systems but theirs was very easy to understand. I felt like every detail was thought about. I would definitely recommend this beautiful space.

We were celebrating our anniversary and this place is just what we needed! Perfect for a couple, it’s very nice and cozy it feels just like home. Comfy living room with a huge TV perfect for movies! The kitchen has everything you need. We stayed at the Airbnb most of the time so having the essentials was a plus! I was able to cook and bake and I even got to brew fresh coffee. The king bed was definitely a surprise, the most comfortable bed ever! We had AC around the entire house, bathroom has the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, even make up remover wipes. Washer and dryer on site! Jacuzzi was great for night time with a spectacular sky view, lots of stars! We didn’t get to use the grill, fire pit, or bikes because it rained but it’s great the house offers these amenities. My service dog was happy with the AC and the huge backyard! You have stores within a few blocks away. Great communication with the host, all questions are answered with all the information they provide.

Great house with great amenities. Wish there was a TV in the bedroom as well but there is only one in the main living room. House is well decorated and feels really welcoming. Shower is a bit weird with a non sliding half glass door so it will leave the bathroom floor pretty wet unless you set down a towel. Owner cant do anything about it but be advised that the house neighboring the property is run down and creepy as its windows can look into the backyard. The house is really close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park as well as just a few blocks down from the visitor center which you can get a map and learn a few things about the park! 4.5 Stars out of 5

I have to say this was such an amazing time just to be able to relax in such a peaceful and clean home. Everything was made available to us to use and was well explained on how to properly utilize their items. The location area is very calm and quiet and it is perfect for a couple and pet friendly which is amazing. Overall had an amazing stay and the attentiveness was on point. This home was exactly what me and my girlfriend were looking for. An amazing weekend getaway and within 20 minutes from anywhere you want to go. Great view of the stars at night from the backyard, it was perfect! They also have bikes that you can ride around which was nice. The house was very clean, the owners were extremely kind through message interactions and provide you with everything you need to feel at home. 5/5 would definitely come back again!

This little home was a perfect little get away. I really like clean homes with simple design and not a lot of Knick knacks around. I love gray as it’s very calming and natural. You may want to throw an extra towel down when taking a shower because there is a little extra spray that escapes the half enclosed glass shower so you don’t get excess water on the cement floor in the bathroom. BTW, I loved the cement floors as I’ve also had them in a previous home and business. Great idea! ???

I really liked this place! So simple on the outside but when we got inside we really felt at home. We loved the amenities. I liked the bikes, the hot tub, the tv, the crosley player, and the kitchen appliances itself! Bed was very comfortable and spacious! I am very big when it comes to the bathroom but the only downside was the shower because the water would get onto the actual floor since it isnt a fully enclosed door. But regardless the place was clean and easy to find! Literally 5 mins from Joshua Tree! Our first night we felt a little paranoid because we can hear a lot of noises outside, it was kind of windy. Also the neighbor on the left side felt a little suspicious because yes the location is enclosed by a metal type fence but neighbors can look over easily. You can park literally 2 cars in the front. House says you can fit 4 people in the house. So i think that means 3 on the bed and 1 person on the couch. My boyfriend and I loved it so much. We would go back!

This is a very nice place, fully fenced in yard was so nice having our dogs with us. Defiantly not geared to handle 4 people, it was my son and I and we fit perfectly but wasn't room for more. The use of the outside it greatly recommended as the living room furniture left a lot to be desired comfort wise If you plan on making any food on the stove (breakfast or dinner) bring your own pans. It was a very nice, quiet place, clean. Super close to downtown (about a block away) really close to the park entrance which was an absolute plus in our books. Bring your flip flops for back yard walking as the little rocks are a bit rough, but don't worry if you forgot anything a dollar general is on the corner to collect your items.

Great location! The hot tub, bocce ball, and entire outdoor area is perfect for post hike leisure. The well stocked kitchen and large tv make hanging indoors wonderful too. Looks just like the photos. Overall, it’s a great stay with great communication & an easy check in process.

This place is great overall. The home is very aesthetic and clean. Getting there was easy and the front entrance is recognizable. Access is easy with the passcode. The host was friendly and communicative. You’re not far from a town there’s a Starbucks less than 10min away if you still want to feel attached to the city haha. The inside of the home felt very comfortable and had a nice vibe. The kitchen was the highlight for me. The appliances are all nice, new, and work very well. There’s a grill outback that works as well just make sure you spin the timer thing to get the gas going. The chalkboard was also fun for morning notes. Other positives There’s an AC for the bedroom and one for the living room. The tv was large and had every streaming services already signed in ready to go. Few cons for me: Biggest thing was the backyard felt a bit neglected compared to how manicured the inside felt. There were qtips in the creases of the concrete. The hot tub didn’t feel clean the headrest had a hair ball on one and the other had some brown gunk. There were large pieces of glass in the dirt mainly near the patio and bonfire area. The glass is kind of a big one because one they mention rules for glassware and you don’t want to take the blame for someone else’s mistake or if you have a younger child out back they could get hurt. There were 2 dead flys in the bottom of the freezer when I opened it… however the fridge did look like it was cleaned. The shower like most new fancy modern feeling places has no door or any way of keeping copious amounts of water from getting on the floor. Again overall my girlfriend and I had a great experience. The host was great at communicating. The home was better then the pictures made it seem. It was a very nice relaxing environment with everything I needed for my stay and then some. I would be happy to be back and I’d give the overall experience 4 stars.

My husband and I had a great time in Skull Rock Cottage. Kitchen as bigger than the pictures made it. Backyard was great! Loved all the extra blankets. Bed was so comfy! We were able to charge our electric vehicle no problem. Would have loved to stay longer. Will hopefully be back again!

This is a beautiful house with lots of natural light. Everything in the house was very clean and convenient. Our favorite part was the backyard area. The grill and fire pit are really easy to use since they run on propane, and I definitely recommend trying out the hot tub and the bocce ball court! Overall a great place that made our trip even better.

No compromises! It is a little pricey but it is well worth it. The hot tub us a godsend after a long day of hiking and the fireplace is warm and inviting, especially for a night looking at the stars. Great place and I will definitely be back again!

This is a lovely property, with every amenity you could want. The owners have chosen to use high quality linens, towels and kitchen items which makes all the difference to your comfort and stay. The Skull Rock Cottage is amazing! We loved playing bocce, having drinks by the fire, gazing at the full moon from the hot tub, listening to vintage vinyl on the turntable, and drinking french press coffee in Le Creuset mugs, and biking through the neighborhood to the Joshua Tree Saloon. If you want to be right in town, but also right next to JTNP, this is the spot!

My partner and I visited Joshua Tree for the first time and I am glad we chose this home. The location is great, near restaurants, stores, gas stations, and a short ride to scenic hiking. The home is very clean, the amenities were exactly what we needed, and the owners were very accommodating. We brought along our pup (for a reasonable fee) and they provided some necessities for him. I would highly recommend this home for any couple!

SkullRock Cottage was the perfect weekend escape for myself, my partner, and dog. (Huge plus for being pet friendly!) The house is situated in a neighborhood not far from the National Park entrance and food/shops along Highway 62. We loved the modern furnishings and design of the place and it truly felt as if we were in a hotel! This is a great place to stay in the town of Joshua Tree! It's clearly been very recently renovated and extremely clean and comfortable. Really state of the art appliances, furniture, bedding, etc. Everything about my stay felt modern, comfortable, safe and relaxing. The big backyard with the spa, fire pit and lawn chairs is a huge plus and is great for stargazing. We loved utilizing the grill and outdoor dining set to eat our meals under the sky, too. The place is minutes from the "town center" in Joshua Tree, so you can ride the bikes provided into town or around the neighborhood. It's also only ~15 minutes from the National Park entrance! The only thing to keep in mind is that this is right in the heart of a neighborhood, so you do hear neighbors and the goings-on nearby, it's not a remote property in the middle of the desert. If you are fine with that, this is a great find and a beautiful home! I loved my stay and felt right at home. PS - one of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in away from home.

Awesome stay for my wife and I on our post wedding trip/mini moon. We got to visit Joshua Tree NP late in the day (ideal time for summer temps) and chill out at the place after. This home is a level of luxury I never knew I needed. If you are looking for the perfect stay, look no further! The perfect location (we walked and biked to some of the best shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree). And the communication and customer service are top notch. They even offered to book spa treatments for us. The Parachute bedding and Public Goods products throughout the house are a treat as well. I couldn't ask for anything more! They even provided a little dog care kit and bed for our dogs. This place is an absolute steal for the price! Definitely staying here next time we are in the area :)
