This house can comfortably sleep 6 guests between the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen and living area sits in front of the house, ensuring maximum privacy. There are 2 bathrooms.

Parking is available for 4 vehicles. This home has a security camera mounted on, and directed at the exterior of the home in order to monitor the quantity of cars on property so we may ensure compliance with local ordinances.

Neighborhood

The 320-acre private community of Rock Reach is technically in the Town of Yucca Valley, but it feels like the middle of Joshua Tree National Park – without the crowds. Most of the landscape is an untouched wonderland of weathered boulders, pinon pines, desert oak and juniper trees.

Rock Reach provides the perfect blend of pristine desert and easy access to amenities in town. The West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park is a 20-minute drive away, and the shops, restaurants, and things to do in Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree Village. A few of favorite spots in Joshua Tree Village include Space Cowboy Books, the World Famous Crochet Museum, and the Joshua Tree Saloon.

In addition to shopping and dining, you won’t want to miss these nearby highlights:
• Pioneertown (15-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue.
• Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (20-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art.
• The Integratron (20-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process.
• Palm Springs (40-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

Transit

Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

GPS is accurate, however please follow our directions as some of the other approaches take you down fairly rough roads.

• EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.

• DOGS: Your dog is welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Please alert us in advance. Max of 2 dogs. No other types of animals are authorized.

• SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us!

• CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.

HouseRules

VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT IS NOT A LEASE AND CONVEYS NO RIGHTS IN REAL PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. YOUR USE IS LIMITED TO THAT DEFINED HEREIN.

• The number of people on the property may not exceed the number of guests in your reservation confirmation plus two (regardless of whether they are staying the night or just visiting). Additional guest fees starting at $65 per person per night will apply for any unauthorized persons.

• Your sole right to access the property begins with the 3PM check-in and ends at the 11AM check-out, unless other times are approved in writing in advance. Check-in is not allowed after 9PM unless approved in advance. We will charge 50% of the daily rate for an unauthorized early arrival or late check-out.

• Dogs are allowed with prior written permission, with the payment of an additional cleaning fee, and only at certain properties. No other pets or animals are allowed. Dog owners agree to the following additional rules: use protective sheets that we will leave out for you to cover any place where your dog may lie (we are not equipped to shampoo furniture or rugs or dry clean bedding after your departure); dogs must be leashed at all times when outside (there are coyotes in the High Desert, which present danger to unleashed dogs) and owners must immediately pick up after their dogs and deposit waste in a plastic bag and place it in the garbage bin; dogs are not to be left unattended in the property at any time. In addition to our additional dog cleaning fee, we will deduct the costs of extra cleaning (including at least $50 for pet fur left on furniture due to lack of use of the provided protective sheets) or repairs necessitated by the presence of your dog.

• Recreational vehicles, motorcycles and camping or other overnight accommodations outside the property are not allowed. Violations of this policy will result in termination of the reservation with no refund.

• We do not guarantee the speed or availability of internet service. Internet service may be provided by a satellite and/or wireless provider and may be subject to more fluctuations and outages than you may be used to and we do not provide refunds or discounts due to internet problems. No illegal or abusive use of the internet access is allowed. Guests may log in to their personal accounts on any devices at the property (e.g. smart TVs), but guests are responsible for logging out of all personal accounts prior to leaving the property and we are not responsible for any use or purchase made on guest accounts.

• Cell service may not be available at the property due to the rural nature and geography of the area.

• The High Desert occasionally has power outages due to its rural nature. We are not responsible for any outages of Southern California Edison or any inconvenience such outage may cause. We will notify you of any planned outages and if requested will attempt to accommodate you elsewhere in the event of a planned outage lasting more than 4 hours. But we do not provide refunds or discounts for power outages that are unplanned.

• No photoshoots are allowed on the property without prior written approval and the payment of additional fees. Unauthorized use of the rental property’s name, address, or images, including its interior, exterior, and / or private property surroundings, for any commercial use including but not limited to selling, advertising, TV, film production, electronic, or other media, is not permitted and we will seek to have any use removed.

• Special events such as weddings and parties are not permitted without written approval and the payment of additional fees.

• Guests who utilize a property’s hot tub, pools and/or plunge pool do so at their own risk and we are not liable for any personal injury or other damages associated with such use. Guests may not use glass or pottery glassware, plates, etc. in or anywhere near any such water amenity. If any glass or pottery ware is broken in or near a water amenity, you will be charged the full amount to drain and refill the amenity and for any lost revenue during such service. Guests may not leave minors unattended at any hot tub, pool or plunge pool. If a water amenity is left uncovered, you will be charged a minimum of $100 for additional cleaning/filling/heating.
No lifeguard is on duty; the primary guest on the reservation is responsible for the safe operation of the pool and for the safety of any persons using the pool; by utilizing any pool or spa all guests acknowledge and accept the risk of injury resulting from use of the pool, malfunction of pool equipment, tripping or falling around the pool/spa and any other injuries that may occur and waive all claims against the homeowner or its representatives including Homestead Modern LLC.

• Guests shall allow the property owner or any designated workers access to the property for landscaping and routine maintenance, cleaning, repairs and building inspections, and pool and hot tub repairs and service.

• If for any reason beyond the control of the owner, the property is unavailable, we may cancel your reservation with only a refund to the actual fees and / or deposits you have paid.

• Smoking is not allowed inside the property or within 15 feet of any exterior door. Please dispose of your extinguished cigarette waste into a plastic bag and then into the outdoor

garbage can. Do not leave cigarette waste on the grounds. If these rules are violated, we will charge a minimum of $250.

• Propane firepits or fireplaces may not be used for burning wood or any other materials (it is illegal pursuant to a county ordinance and may damage the fixture). If any combustible materials are burned in them, we will charge a minimum of $500 cleaning fee.

• By making your reservation, you confirm that you will comply with (and your stay is allowed by) any applicable health or safety orders from the State of California.

• Firearms are not allowed on the property.

• Local ordinances prohibit any loud, excessive, or intrusive noise that disturbs the peace or that causes discomfort or annoyance to any reasonable person at any time as well as strict quiet hours between 10PM and 7AM. You must adhere to these rules.

• Please pay attention to all relevant short-term rental ordinances and other regulations (such as the noise ordinance above) in accordance with county or town guidelines. If you violate any ordinance and as a result the property is fined, you will be responsible for payment of the fine plus a $500 administrative fee.

• Payments are due 50% at 60 days before check-in and 50% at 30 days before check-in (or at the time of reservation if less than the days for either payment).

• A deposit is required at the time of booking and any unused portion will be returned 7 days after checkout. Bookings may include an accidental damage protection fee – with payment of this non-refundable fee, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $1000 and that you report to us during your stay. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets.

• We may withhold all or part of your deposit if you fail to follow the rules in this agreement, the property listing or the property house manual. If the cost of the damages, losses, or missing items exceed the amount of the deposit, we will bill your credit card for the difference and / or pursue legal action. Cause(s) for withholding deposit funds include, but are not limited to: damage to premises or contents, missing or broken items, lost keys, required excessive cleaning, not complying fully with the departure checklist, smoke odors or damage, mailing charges for items left behind, unauthorized persons visiting or staying on the property, the presence of a dog without authorization, noise complaints after 10PM, including fines, trespassing on neighboring properties, violation of any county or town rules and unauthorized late check-out.

• We are not responsible for any personal injury or personal property loss or damage that you or your guests may incur while at the property, you assume all risks associated with your visit and will hold the property owner and manager harmless from any injuries, loss or damage.

Wow, what a place to stay. a last minute change of plans saw us book this beautiful place in the desert for 6 Nights. The Sunrise was spectacular every morning, an exceptional property, luxurious and stylish throughout. the master bedroom was so comfortable and was the best bed away from home we have ever slept in. A true rest for budding adventurers and a great location to visit nearby attractions without travelling to far. Pioneertown is a must (just avoid the coffee especially if your British). AnotherDesertHouse provided us with a much needed pause, relax and refresh before continuing on our California road tripping adventure. I would definitely stay again if I am fortunate enough to go on another road trip in California.

We had an amazing stay at this property. It’s serene and isolated, a hidden oasis with a beautiful view. The master suite was HUGE. The other two bedrooms were very nice. The sofa I’m told was super comfortable to sleep on, by a very tall man :) We enjoyed cooking and grilling together in the kitchen. The dining area was spacious and convenient. Loved the game options. My favorite part: the garage and electric car charger! Hallelujah. I would 100% recommend this property.

Outstanding home! I want to start by highlighting the location. The property is nestled high in the Yucca Valley hills almost completely secluded. You have no neighbors and you only hear the wind and the wildlife around you. The views overlooking the valley is amazing. You can climb up the slope in the backyard and catch a beautiful sunset. The property itself is great. Clean and modern. Large open floor plan. All the essential amenities are present. Everything was very clean on arrival and nothing was broken. We enjoyed lounging in the jacuzzi while stargazing at night. Host provided prompt instructions. I never had to contact them.

The home is located on a ridge with sweeping canyon views of majestic vistas and mountains. The property offers privacy and a modern outdoor jacuzzi. Nice modern touches, everything was top quality, from the kitchen appliances to the bathrooms, furniture, linens, etc. There are quite a few neighbors, but everyone kept to themselves or just weren’t there. The dirt road getting there can be tricky if you take the short route that gps maps wants you to take. By the second day we realized the longer route and it made all the difference. And yes, a sedan close to the ground could be challenging. The host was responsive when we needed help w the internet. Very quiet and private home. I never seem to find a mattress that is soft enough for me, so I think I’m the problem. I would recommend to friends to stay here. 5 stars.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday weekend at this beautiful house. It gave a very luxurious resort vibe without the crowd. We loved how it felt so peaceful and secluded but was still close to restaurants and stores. We loved stargazing from the hot tub. It was magical. We watched a few sunrises and sunsets from the house and they were phenomenal. We enjoyed cooking a meal and eating it at the patio when it was sunny. The views from the house are spectacular. The house is cozy too when you are tired and just want to relax. We would definitely return.

Another Desert House is a well curated space that makes you feel like there is plenty of quiet corners to relax in while also being perfect for a group to be together. The kitchen has everything you need including a water filtration system and a kitchen sink with incredible views. My group of 4 absolutely loved our stay here. The home is tucked away from any main roads and there are very few housing in the area, so you are truly staying in a serene desert home - the stars at night are incredible!! The house was well equipped with everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We enjoyed using the grill and the hot tub - unfortunately it was too windy to utilize the fire pit but the area looked very inviting. The house was spacious, comfortable and immaculately designed. We were so sad to leave! We will 100% be coming back the next time we venture to Joshua Tree.

Extremely well equipped, even for fixing and serving a Thanksgiving dinner. However this is a lack of pantry space to store food and supplies not needing to be refrigerated. There are 3 pantry cabinets that are locked and the only one available is mostly full of small appliances etc.

This place is stunning! It was the highlight of our trip, we loved exploring every part of this place - from the chairs out front for morning coffee, the back of the home for lunch/listening to music/reading, the hot tub or lounge chairs our front for stargazing, the board games, the books… we of course loved pioneer town and Joshua tree, but could have stayed here the whole time! It was only the two of us, but would be perfect for more folks. The drive is a bit more adventurous for city dwellers and you maybe more comfortable in a mini suv or larger and trying to get there in daytime, but they grate it regularly. Stay here, I’m so glad we did.

Beautiful surroundings and home, good privacy, clean and quiet. Great views from the hot tub and front window. Wish list would include new hammocks (the current ones say to the point they hit the ground when you sit in them, but maybe that’s just due to the recent heavy rains?) and a bigger/sectional couch to allow cuddling with dogs and loved ones (incidentally, the set up for dogs was great, with a dog bed, lint roller, and sheet to put over sofas in order to prevent damage/shedding - nice touches!). The home was well decorated and the outside was as comfortable as the inside. Lots of areas to read or just breath in nature outside. I loved the natural stones, in the house, and the extra blankets. The bed was good. And overall it had everything you would need for a long or short stay. Also The views in morning and evening were equally lovely. Picture perfect sunsets and sunrises. Why not 5 stars? The road to get to the house was very sketchy… perhaps because of all the recent rain. There was notice it was a dirt road but there were giant cracks and bumps en route so be warned and take your time so you don’t get a flat tire. Also the front door thumped and rattled all night because of the wind. (It seems it might need a new latch.). And the back screen door could not slide as it seemed to have been rusty. You can also see your neighbors… it was still beautiful with epic views and quiet tranquility, but it’s not quite the isolated 2 acre abode you may imagine.

We truly loved our stay here! It was very clean and as described. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the sunrise/sunset. The decor was well designed and the views are incredible! My only recommendation is for a quicker response from the host. We asked about bringing an additional pet but didn’t hear back until next day. In addition, no trash bags were stocked and the response time was hours before we heard back. It was also a bit cold in the master bedroom so I’d recommend a space heater for use. Besides that, I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be coming back here!

I simply CANNOT say enough good things about this place!! First, it is EXACTLY as gorgeous and lush in person as it is in pictures. 100% accurate. But second (and more important), it honestly exceeded expectations. The decor and guest amenities are both stunning and smart, but it's the VIBE that wins you. The house is situated at the top of a hill surrounded by gorgeous desert landscape and boulders -- super private, but still just minutes from civilization and anything you need. You're not alone in the mountains, but you feel like you are. And it's QUIET. I mean, truly silent. So incredibly peaceful I could hear myself breathe. Which, frankly, was excellent medicine. The views from every angle of the house are magnificent, but the front porch is ... well. I could have slept there and been happy. It's just epic. The kitchen is well-appointed and a pleasure to cook in. Sit it. Eat in. The beds are lush and the access to the outdoors is dreamy. I wanted to move in permanently. It's a HOME, and it welcomes you. The location and property gives the feeling of being in the open desert with all the amenities of a comfortable chic home. Wow, what a place to stay. a last minute change of plans saw us book this beautiful place in the desert for 6 Nights. The Sunrise was spectacular every morning, an exceptional property, luxurious and stylish throughout. the master bedroom was so comfortable and was the best bed away from home we have ever slept in. A true rest for budding adventurers and a great location to visit nearby attractions without travelling to far. Pioneertown is a must (just avoid the coffee especially if your British). AnotherDesertHouse provided us with a much needed pause, relax and refresh before continuing on our California road tripping adventure. I would definitely stay again if I am fortunate enough to go on another road trip in California.

We had an amazing stay at this property. It’s serene and isolated, a hidden oasis with a beautiful view. The master suite was HUGE. The other two bedrooms were very nice. Outstanding home! I want to start by highlighting the location. The property is nestled high in the Yucca Valley hills almost completely secluded. You have no neighbors and you only hear the wind and the wildlife around you. The views overlooking the valley is amazing. You can climb up the slope in the backyard and catch a beautiful sunset. The property itself is great. Clean and modern. Large open floor plan. All the essential amenities are present. Everything was very clean on arrival and nothing was broken. There is a gas fireplace inside and outside as well as a grill and multiple seating options. The interior is clean, features beautiful decor and decorations. The garage is spacious and secure. I recommend this home for any mountain retreat or vacation.

My wife and I stayed here for our Joshua Tree elopement. The place was perfect. The hosts are excellent communicators. The house is gorgeous and very well decorated. We just returned from this wonderful home in an exceptionally peaceful and scenic locale. The house and amenities are outstanding and views are excellent. We truly enjoyed relaxing in the home in front of the fireplace and outside at the fire pit and the hot tub. The home was also convenient for our almost daily trips to Joshua Tree NP. Beautiful home. Nice modern touches, everything was top quality, from the kitchen appliances to the bathrooms, furniture, linens, etc. There are quite a few neighbors, but everyone kept to themselves or just weren’t there. The dirt road getting there can be tricky if you take the short route that gps maps wants you to take. By the second day we realized the longer route and it made all the difference. And yes, a sedan close to the ground could be challenging. The host was responsive when we needed help w the internet. Very quiet and private home. I never seem to find a mattress that is soft enough for me, so I think I’m the problem. I would recommend to friends to stay here. 5 stars.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday weekend at this beautiful house. It gave a very luxurious resort vibe without the crowd. We loved how it felt so peaceful and secluded but was still close to restaurants and stores. We loved stargazing from the hot tub. It was magical. We watched a few sunrises and sunsets from the house and they were phenomenal. We enjoyed cooking a meal and eating it at the patio when it was sunny. The views from the house are spectacular. The house is cozy too when you are tired and just want to relax. We would definitely return.

Another Desert House is a well curated space that makes you feel like there is plenty of quiet corners to relax in while also being perfect for a group to be together. The kitchen has everything you need including a water filtration system and a kitchen sink with incredible views. The beds were comfortable the linens very nice and the showers clean and well stocked. Set your alarm for sunrise, the view from the front of the house was stunning

My group of 4 absolutely loved our stay here. The home is tucked away from any main roads and there are very few housing in the area, so you are truly staying in a serene desert home - the stars at night are incredible!! The house was well equipped with everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We enjoyed using the grill and the hot tub - unfortunately it was too windy to utilize the fire pit but the area looked very inviting. The house was spacious, comfortable and immaculately designed. We were so sad to leave! We will 100% be coming back the next time we venture to Joshua Tree.

This house is an absolute GEM. From the peaceful and quite serenity of the surroundings, to the interior of the home itself, this location is the PERFECT environment to get away from the stress of every day life in the city. This home has it all and we found ALL of the amenities to be both clean and in wonderful condition. Extremely well equipped, even for fixing and serving a Thanksgiving dinner. However this is a lack of pantry space to store food and supplies not needing to be refrigerated. There are 3 pantry cabinets that are locked and the only one available is mostly full of small appliances etc.

This place is stunning! It was the highlight of our trip, we loved exploring every part of this place - from the chairs out front for morning coffee, the back of the home for lunch/listening to music/reading, the hot tub or lounge chairs our front for stargazing, the board games, the books… we of course loved pioneer town and Joshua tree, but could have stayed here the whole time! It was only the two of us, but would be perfect for more folks. The drive is a bit more adventurous for city dwellers and you maybe more comfortable in a mini suv or larger and trying to get there in daytime, but they grate it regularly. Stay here, I’m so glad we did.

Had the most amazing and relaxing stay here! Unfortunately, the initial home we booked under Homestead Modern didn’t work out last minute, but they were very quick to accommodate and help us find another home that was available for us to stay in! I’m really glad it worked out in the end because the location of this home was very private, peaceful, and had such breathtaking views. Beautiful surroundings and home, good privacy, clean and quiet. Great views from the hot tub and front window. Wish list would include new hammocks (the current ones say to the point they hit the ground when you sit in them, but maybe that’s just due to the recent heavy rains?) and a bigger/sectional couch to allow cuddling with dogs and loved ones (incidentally, the set up for dogs was great, with a dog bed, lint roller, and sheet to put over sofas in order to prevent damage/shedding - nice touches!). The home was well decorated and the outside was as comfortable as the inside. Lots of areas to read or just breath in nature outside. I loved the natural stones, in the house, and the extra blankets. The bed was good. And overall it had everything you would need for a long or short stay. Also The views in morning and evening were equally lovely. Picture perfect sunsets and sunrises. Why not 5 stars? The road to get to the house was very sketchy… perhaps because of all the recent rain. There was notice it was a dirt road but there were giant cracks and bumps en route so be warned and take your time so you don’t get a flat tire. Also the front door thumped and rattled all night because of the wind. (It seems it might need a new latch.). And the back screen door could not slide as it seemed to have been rusty. You can also see your neighbors… it was still beautiful with epic views and quiet tranquility, but it’s not quite the isolated 2 acre abode you may imagine.

We truly loved our stay here! It was very clean and as described. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the sunrise/sunset. The decor was well designed and the views are incredible! My only recommendation is for a quicker response from the host. We asked about bringing an additional pet but didn’t hear back until next day. In addition, no trash bags were stocked and the response time was hours before we heard back. It was also a bit cold in the master bedroom so I’d recommend a space heater for use. Besides that, I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be coming back here!

A hidden gem, very private! This home was everything we wanted and more. Comfy furniture, master bed was super comfy! I simply CANNOT say enough good things about this place!! First, it is EXACTLY as gorgeous and lush in person as it is in pictures. 100% accurate. But second (and more important), it honestly exceeded expectations. The decor and guest amenities are both stunning and smart, but it's the VIBE that wins you. The house is situated at the top of a hill surrounded by gorgeous desert landscape and boulders -- super private, but still just minutes from civilization and anything you need. You're not alone in the mountains, but you feel like you are. And it's QUIET. I mean, truly silent. So incredibly peaceful I could hear myself breathe. Which, frankly, was excellent medicine. The views from every angle of the house are magnificent, but the front porch is ... well. I could have slept there and been happy. It's just epic. The kitchen is well-appointed and a pleasure to cook in. Sit it. Eat in. The beds are lush and the access to the outdoors is dreamy. I wanted to move in permanently. It's a HOME, and it welcomes you. Seriously. And the hosts are easy and quick to respond. There is NOTHING lacking here. Worth every penny. Will be back as soon as I have an excuse.

Had a lovely stay at this beautiful home! I arrived and the house was not fully cleaned but I contacted the owner and they sent someone over to clean ASAP which was appreciated... I would recommend bringing a car capable for a bit of dirt road / hills, as my Prius was about at its max for the road leading up to the house. Other than that, everything else about the space was as described / pictured. I will be keeping this location in mind if I ever need to stay in this area again!

So glad I booked this space. If you are planning a trip in the area look no further. It’s nestled in its own little space surrounded by desert boulders. The location and property gives the feeling of being in the open desert with all the amenities of a comfortable chic home. Which was great for my family as some of us were outdoorsy and some preferred staying inside. The hot tub was great especially for stargazing at night. Beds, linens, & pillows were comfortable and the space was clean and welcoming. I loved the thoughtful kitchen & dining amenities. We cooked during our stay and it had everything we needed - essential spices, pots & pans, and beautiful serve-ware that elevated the dinner vibe. Thoughtful touches for our dogs like a dog bed & disposable poo bags. The space was even better in person and would definitely stay here again.

Another Desert House is wonderful! The house is well accommodated and the hosts respond quickly. The real gem of this house is the outside area sit still and quiet and watch the wildlife poke around. We saw quail, a roadrunner, lone slinky coyote, and others. Make sure your dog is on a leash if you don’t want any trouble. Sunrise right in front of the deck. Comfy beds. Great get away! Spectacular location with sweeping views across the entire valley. Sunrise from master bedroom was truly epic. The home is tastefully decorated and functionally 5 stars. The last mile is off-road and our 4WD easily delivered us to this absolutely stunning location for that remote holiday experience we were looking for.
