We stayed at The Bungalows at Homestead Modern where the achingly cool, retro décor competes with the striking view and it’s hard to gauge which comes out on top. It’s here that our night wound down, all gathered in one bungalow sharing all the laughs and swapping confessions.
It’s also here that I cracked the secret appeal of a road trip in the dessert. There’s undeniably a poetry to the landscape, that far from being ‘samey’ sucks you in. Even the most die-hard city slickers will gain a newfound interest in vegetation.
